Restrictive Pain

Many of us have been there...you slept wrong, and you can't turn your neck, you lifted that couch, and woke up unable to get out of bed, or you have the sharp shooting pain that goes under your shoulder blade. You need some fast, targeted relief.

I've had many years experience relieving these types of situations. I use postural analysis and my knowledge of anatomy to soften and relieve the restricted muscles in order to get you up and moving again. I may use cold stones to reduce inflammation, deep tissue massage, stretching, and Body Optimalization.

I may recommend a series of treatments to get you fully recovered, and to address the underlying imbalances that made you vulnerable to the injury. Keeping your body relaxed and tension free is the best way I know to prevent restrictive injuries.

Repetitive/Over-Use Pain

You spend hours on the computer, you work in construction, you're a hairdresser, or you just overdid it at the gym. Maybe you even get tension headaches due to tight neck and shoulders or constant staring at a computer screen. Tension and strain can build up in specific muscle groups over time and lead to chronic, more serious problems such as carpel tunnel syndrome, frozen shoulder, or sciatica just to name a few.

My goal is to keep your muscles loose and flexible so that you can avoid serious physical complications, expensive medical care, and money lost by missing work due to injury. With Body Optimalization Techniques, I can target the areas of repetitive strain, relieve chronic tension, and keep stressed areas supple, flexible and healthy. Regular consistent massages, even if just short targeted sessions, may save you sums of money in medical cost, help you avoid the disruption that injuries cause, and help you live a happy productive life.

Accumulated Tension

Most of us find ourselves continually on the move, driving, working, exercising, and living busy lives. Tension and fatigue can build up over time, and leave us feeling depleted, achy, and tense. Little sore areas can emerge and irritate us and slow us down. Many of us just need to stop, relax, and renew our energy and vitality for life. This helps us avoid deeper aches and pains, stress related colds and sickness, and emotional overwhelm.

I have many tools in my toolbox to help you relax and release accumulated tension. My deep tissue and swedish massage with stretching relaxes tired muscles, eases mental stress, and leaves you feeling renewed. And to take it one step further, my Hot Stone Massage induces deep serenity, greatly increases circulation, and brings a sense of deep warmth and comfort.

Setting aside time for renewal on a regular basis can restore us physically and emotionally so that things just go more smoothly and happily in our lives. Whether it's weekly, bi-weekly or monthly, having a scheduled consistent time for massage can create a foundation of wellness and renewal that supports a centered balanced life.

Injury

Injuries can affect us on many levels. Massage can be a balm that carries us through our recovery process.

At the site of an injury, my skilled massage can relax local muscles and reduce pain, reduce tension patterns as the body compensates for the injury, and relieve resulting structural imbalances.

Often times, there is shock, stress, and anxiety caused by an injury, and my work can help sooth and reduce these symptoms, encouraging a quick recovery. With my experience, I can assess when it's time to do deep therapeutic massage, or time to work on relaxing the system overall with more fluid soothing massage and energy based therapy such as Polarity or Acupressure.

Sometimes areas that are incapacitated can benefit from the increased blood and lymph circulation, improved flexibility, and pain relief provided by massage. My work can be an invaluable support tool for progressing though injury recovery.

Stress & Anxiety

Frazzled nerves, overwhelm, and chronic stress can greatly reduce our quality of life. Stress can reduce our resilience to colds and sickness, give us headaches, cause irritability, and prevent our happiness in life. Science has also suggested that increased cortisol levels due to stress can make it hard to maintain a healthy weight.

Using my gentle strong touch, I help people relax and let go. I give people a feeling of assurance though my hands, and help them feel supported. Many people have commented that they can tell that I really know the body, and feel like I am accurately reaching their areas of tightness. This assures people that it is safe to relax, and that their needs will be attended to. I apply my years of meditation practice to my work, and practice focused presence in each session.
